Welcome to the website
This website is to chronicle the restoration work on my 1955 DKW RT250/2 motorcycle.

Please feel free to register an account and share information on any DKW motorcycle.

The aim of this site is to help out Australasian owners of these motorcycles and to aid in finding parts and share information.

Extended Downtime
The site has been down for well over a year due to a server crash, but fortunately I found a reasonable backup that I didn't think I had and have managed to get the main forums and gallery working again. Hopefully I can restore the Wiki next and track down any bugs.
Not much progress on my DKW, I have managed to get one of the frames blasted and painted,

Got my frame back
Well, I got my frame back from Crowes, 13 months he had it, and never even thought about beginning work on it.

Now I need to find somewhere reliable to get it done.

Brake parts
Picked up the brake components from my mate Smithy last night. I have posted pictures in the Gallery. The brake shoes are still using the preexisting linings, Smithy managed to clean them up very well. Whilst I was there he fired up the miniature jet turbine he is building to put into a RC mini jet dragster.

One of my engine covers is beyond repair so I need to find another one, and there is signs of repaired damage to part of the rear brake hub assembly, so I may try to find another one.
